⭐️ 0 Star – Extremely Unprofessional and Deeply Disappointing Experience I do NOT recommend working with real estate agents Rich Pobre or Tim Carter, nor their office. Our experience from start to finish has been deeply disappointing, unprofessional, and emotionally draining. We originally reached out to Rich and trusted him to guide us through the home-buying process. As we were out of the country at the time, our daughter met with him and his team on our behalf. That experience was so negative that we considered walking away immediately. Rich then forced us to work with Tim Carter, someone he praised and heavily pushed on us as our agent. Only later did we discover that Tim was a brand-new agent, who had just moved to Las Vegas earlier this year, and had zero knowledge of the local market or real estate practices. This was NOT disclosed to us upfront. By the time we found out the truth, we were past the 8-day window to cancel our listing and get our money back. It felt manipulative and deceitful. Throughout the process, Tim Carter and Richmond’s salesperson Doug “DJ” Johnson misled us repeatedly. They told us no other homes would be built soon, and falsely suggested that price negotiations with the builder were not allowed. Tim refused to negotiate the price on our behalf. We later learned through a seasoned real estate agent that not only could we have negotiated the price, but we also could have visited the home as many times as we wanted. However, Tim led us to believe we could not even get inside unless we were buying it immediately. He offered no real guidance—not even when we asked whether someone should do a full inspection in our absence. His response? That he would “be there to help”. In reality, he was no help at all. To make matters worse, Tim Carter didn’t even show up to our closing. Neither did the Richmond salesperson. That is unheard of and just goes to show how little they care about their clients. There was no follow-up, no support, and when issues immediately came up with the brand new home, both Rich and Tim refused to meet with us in person—choosing instead to ignore us completely after they got paid. We flew back from another country, and even then, Rich refused to speak with us. That level of disrespect is beyond unprofessional—it’s shameful. We now regret not backing out when we first sensed something was off. We regret ever trusting Rich or letting him pass us along to an inexperienced agent like Tim Carter. We regret this home purchase entirely because of the lack of honesty, guidance, and care we received. Thankfully, we’ve since found a true professional—a real estate agent with 20+ years of experience, who is now helping us find a new home AND sell this one. She’s shown us how real agents handle their clients: with honesty, effort, and integrity—things we never once received from Rich, Tim, or their office. I will also be writing a negative review for Richmond American Homes, as their staff—from the salesperson to the “home specialist” to the closing specialist—were all similarly unhelpful, unethical, and uninformed. Do yourself a favor: stay far away from this office. Our experience with Rich Pobre and Tim Carter has been one of the worst professional experiences of our lives.
