Every review submitted to EffectiveAgents must be confirmed by its author through a verification email before it can be published. Submissions that are never confirmed never go live. Here is exactly how the process works, and how we keep it honest.

How Review Verification Works
Anyone can type five stars into a website. A verified review means a real person confirmed, from their own inbox, that they wrote it. Every review on EffectiveAgents goes through the same four steps.

A client submits a review
A buyer or seller writes a review on their agent's profile: a star rating, their experience, and their name and email address.

The reviewer confirms by email
We send a confirmation link to the reviewer's email address. Only the person who owns that inbox can complete the review. It is the same double opt-in standard used for email subscriptions.

Published with a Verified badge
Once the reviewer confirms, the review is published on the agent's profile and marked Verified. Submissions that are never confirmed are never published.

Monitored by systems and people
Submissions are rate-limited and review patterns are monitored for manipulation. A review administrator at EffectiveAgents also analyzes every review for signs of abuse. Reviews that fail these checks are removed.
The Policy, Plainly
- Double opt-in: a review publishes only after its author confirms it from their own email inbox.
- Submissions are rate-limited, and review activity is monitored for coordinated or abusive patterns.
- Human oversight: a review administrator at EffectiveAgents analyzes every review for signs of abuse. Automated checks are the floor, not the whole process.
- No pay-for-placement: agents cannot pay to add, remove, or alter reviews, and they cannot pay to change their rankings.
- Reviews collected before email verification launched are being re-verified with their original authors. Legacy reviews that cannot be confirmed are removed. We would rather show fewer reviews than unverified ones.
Most of our analysis of agent performance is quantitative, built on verified transaction data. We concede that qualitative variables such as reviews can play a role in the process, although our ranking algorithm does not factor reviews into its analysis.
