My wife Tamie, was a realtor in West Linn for more than 30 years, retiring this Spring. When it came time to sell our home in September, we knew it was a bad time to put our home on the market and the chances of getting a fair price for this unique property were low. We knew that similarly priced homes had languished on market for several months. After careful consideration, Tamie strongly recommended we ask Heather Robbins, Robbins Realty Group, to be our realtor. It was an inspired recommendation. At 77 years of age, I had no desire to undertake what was needed to best prepare the house for sale. We met with Heather, as she thoughtfully and thoroughly explained the current market conditions and suggested a price range for the 5,600 sq. ft. home that sits on 0.9 acres with stunning views of Mt. Hood and the Cascade Mountains. She was very professional, yet empathetic and understanding of our needs and concerns. She was also willing to do whatever we might reasonably asked of her. We have loved this home for the past 20 years. It was a home that Tamie had watched for 7 years, prior to our purchasing it. It is a great home with a neighborhood swimming pool and tennis courts next door. A home where we, grandparents, formed fond and loving memories with our six children, thirteen grandchildren and friends. We hoped and prayed that whoever purchased the home will have similar experiences with their family. Heather recommended that we declutter the home, prepare it for staging and spread 24 cubic yards of mulch around the plants and vegetation. I resisted the latter recommendation but finally agreed. Those recommendations significantly increased the beauty and appeal of the home. We were most blessed with the sale of the home. Fortunately, there was a family in West Linn that felt about the house the way Tamie did, prior to our purchase. They were at the same stage of life as we were 20 years before when we purchased it. Their offer was fair and generous. Heather’s insight and advise was “spot on.” The sale of the home closed 25 days after the one and only open house. Heather handled the paperwork and negotiations promptly, with grace and concern for both parties. We are thrilled for the Buyers and wish them all the joy and happiness that we experienced in that home. So, my husband and I were pretty much in need of a housing miracle. We needed to find a home in a great neighborhood that would be a welcome fit for our two school aged children as well as a safe landing pad for family and friends when they come to stay. The home needed to be within close proximity to aging parents, as well as have a place for our 5 chickens. (Not to mention we needed to find this home within a 5 month time frame, and within our price range.) No pressure! Heather went right to work and was an incredible advocate for us. Her communication skills were key. Being the angel that she is, she found the house that would be a great fit, and it came with personal touches that exceeded what we'd hoped for. Through all of our concerns, emotions and paperwork, Heather saw us through from beginning to end. Would definitely recommend her and look forward to working with her again in the future.
