Worked with John Maranto to buy our first house. It was an excellent experience and I doubt there is anyone better than him. He is very knowledgeable, well connected, and has been selling homes in the Baltimore area for decades. He is unpretentious, straightforward, and smooth to work with. He makes sure you understand every aspect of the process. He is comfortable with himself and his abilities and will only reduce your anxiety rather than add to it. He never made any mistakes, even small ones, throughout our home buying process. He is an efficient and direct communicator and tells you the truth, there's no need to read between the lines. He seems extremely genuine and "goes the extra mile" in terms of assistance and availability for anything related to homes, even after the purchase. He isn't "going the extra mile" to try to get a good review from you or validation or something, it seems to just be his personality. We'd go with him again no question.

We looked extensively for a real estate agent, and we eventually chose John. His strengths are that he will give you honest advice, even if you don't take it. He is tenacious about your rights during negotiations, and he will be there if you need something afterwards. For instance, he picked up on a problem at close that we could resolve before signing, which saved us a significant headache and some $. I was looking for someone with deep local knowledge of Canton / Fells Point, and his team are based there and know the area very well. I recommend working with him to find you a new house in Baltimore City or County.
