Late in 2020, my wife and I, on a whim, stopped by Crescent Real Estate. We were greeted by Brendan Reilly, the agency owner and, fortunately for us, our agent for the next three years. His business is only a few blocks from our Wayne home. We were just beginning the process of thinking about downsizing to a smaller home, so we needed an agent to walk us through the process, especially because it had been almost 35 years since our last real estate transaction. We weren’t even sure we wanted to move, causing us to vacillate or, as Brendan would say, engage and then disengage. This went on for three years, but he never once hesitated when we called to look at a house. And he never rushed us at the walk-throughs, despite the number of houses we visited. Once we found a house to bid on, Brendan’s competence as an agent became even more apparent. As anyone who’s shopping in this market knows, it’s incredibly competitive, making the bidding process tricky. Selling can also be tricky. When bidding, he knew exactly how to structure the offer to give us the best chance at a winning bid. He timed it perfectly and we were successful. As for selling, he priced our Wayne home to get the most value while moving it quickly. It sold in a day. You just can’t ask for more than that. As a person, Brendan is upbeat, warm and caring. As an agent, he is incredibly patient and reassuring, which we definitely needed. And when it came to the houses we visited, his observations were more than insightful. They provided the basis for our decisions. I just can’t say enough good things about Brendan. Because we were so unsure about moving, another agent might have eventually dismissed us. Brendan, on the other hand, never failed to return our calls or emails, thoughtfully and patiently answer our questions or show up when we needed him to. Again, this is over a three-year period. We trusted him and that trust was rewarded. Let me end by saying that anyone looking for a capable real estate agent who deftly manages both people (mainly my wife and I) and the innumerable details that are part of the selling/buying process, will find that agent at the corner of Highland and West Wayne in Wayne. Brendan and his team at Crescent Real Estate facilitated the purchase and sale of our new and old homes recently. If you have the opportunity to partner with Brendan, we highly recommend working with him. For each home we were interested in purchasing, he conducted a thorough analysis of the market and comps to help us get comfortable with an acceptable offer. His knowledge and extensive experience in home building came through as he provided his opinion on construction quality and potential long term issues with each home. On the home we ultimately purchased, he structured our offer to include inspections and other protections for us as buyers even in this “seller’s” market. We were lucky enough to purchase a home that met every criteria we were looking for and would not be here without Brendan’s guidance and patience. After seeing many homes we weren’t thrilled with, he kept reminding us we would find what we were looking for and he was right. While we are thrilled with the home we purchased and with Brendan’s partnership on it, the breadth and depth of his real estate experience came through during the sale of our old home. The home had a lot of quirks and we were prepared to let it sit for a while and to negotiate with any potential buyers who came along. What we underestimated was Brendan’s expertise in pricing the home appropriately and ensuring its salability. He gave us clear instructions on how to prepare our home for sale down to the contractors to call and exact timing of cleanings and leaf removal. Once it hit the market, there were over 20 showings scheduled almost immediately and he sold the home in just over 24 hours. We were leary of working with a strong offer that came along with a few contingencies however Brendan strategically structured the deal such that we were able to fully capture the upside potential of the over-asking price while protecting our downside regarding inspections and the mortgage appraisal. He smoothly negotiated with the seller’s agent and got us everything we wanted and that the buyers wanted too. It was a win-win. Work with Brendan if you can; you will be glad you did!

Brendan was amazing to work with from beginning to end. Right from the start he was invested in making sure we found our forever home. He was always available via text, email, and phone calls. As first time homebuyers we had A LOT of questions and he never made us feel like a bother and was prompt with his answers. Brendan is VERY knowledgeable about all components of home buying and educated us along the way. We cannot recommend Brendan enough, I will never stop raving about our experience and how he helped us get the home of our dreams.
