Derek helped my parents sell their house and the reason it sold so quickly was in a large part due to him. I say this because we had listed a few months earlier with another agent but pulled the house off the market due to a lackluster few weeks. We didn't do any research or vetting the first time, so the second time around, I came up with a list of questions to ask and talked to multiple agents. Derek stood out from the other agents in his communication skills, his marketing process, and his ability to see the selling point of my parents' property. Throughout the process of selling the home, Derek kept us updated, was quick in responding and was reassuring with my parents. After two weekends of open houses, we had multiple bids and the property sold above listing price. His dedication, knowledge, and professionalism made a world of difference in selling the house and there was never a moment of doubt from me that he was doing the best job possible. Derek is truly exceptional. My husband Jim and I met Derek 2 years ago at an open house in El Cerrito. We chose Derek as our buyer agent because he is a great communicator and has a warm demeanor. He was excellent throughout the entire buying process. Not only did Derek find our dream house, but he also found contractors for remodeling. Derek is always available for home tours. His responsiveness is incredible. If Derek doesn’t pick up the phone immediately, he always gets back to us within a reasonable time frame. Derek worked with us patiently reviewing documents including some confusing ones. This saved us a lot of time. Derek made sure to find homes that matched our desired attributes. After visits, he took the time to debrief with us on the houses we were interested in, and provided valuable feedback to us. He is also very well-versed at engaging with other real estate agents. Derek has great energy. He called to congratulate us when we got the house we gave an offer on after long hours of waiting from the seller, and it already was past midnight!
