My wife & I contacted Tom Field to help us locate a home in Lincoln County after being recommended by a friend who had used his services to purchase their home. I was a first time buyer living 3,000 miles away from Maine. Tom was immediately helpful & recommended a local bank for financing. After two months of reviewing the listings he compiled for us we made a trip to actually view the properties we were interested in purchasing. He drove us around for two days as we looked at the selected homes giving us insight into the towns we were considering. We found him to be knowledgeable & informative not only about the homes but also the various areas & their particular pros & cons. These oftentimes were things we could not have known until living there. I appreciated his willingness to express his own opinion about a particular property without hesitation. This saved us from making a decision we would likely have come to regret later. Tom managed this entire process with a delightfully dry wit! By the end of the second day, we had found the home we wanted. He drew up the necessary paperwork & within four days we had made our offer & our trip concluded. He helped us every step of the way through the inspection process and was there to offer options and advice. I highly recommend Tom to anyone looking to purchase a home. I found him to be a person of great integrity who looked out for our interests. He facilitated the purchase of our new home with an understanding of our particular situation & needs. My wife and I could not be more pleased with the outcome and know we would not have been able to complete the purchase without his help & guidance.

Tom has helped my wife and I both sell and buy real estate. He is extremely knowledgeable about the area and makes it easy to understand everything that comes with buying or selling real estate. I would highly recommend Tom to anyone that is interested in buying or selling real estate.

The process of buying my house in Maine took almost 5 months. Tom was the listing agent, and although it took me a while to understand the ins and outs of dual representation, I was impressed with his knowledge of the property and the area in which it is located, his openness in providing me with the information I needed, and his patience as we worked through all the details. For these reasons, I decided to proceed having him represent me rather than seek out another realtor. The required procedures were followed and the paperwork completed in a timely manner. Tom interacted between the owners and myself professionally and competently. He gave me good advice and recommended excellent people to help me fully understand a structural issue that arose during the inspection. As a result, I was able to make a fully informed decision, and I decided to proceed with the purchase. Without his resources and sincere interest to be sure I was happy with my decision, I might have discontinued the negotiations. Tom was always well informed, prepared, accessible, good humored and prepared for our appointments. He turned what could easily have turned into a nightmare into a good, solid negotiation and result. I felt that he exercised excellent judgement throughout the transaction. Other than the inspection, there were no surprises and I trusted him completely.

Thomas Field was first recommended to me by a broker I'd known a long time who was retiring. She assured me that if anyone could move my property given economic head winds, Thomas could and she was right. Maine is a tricky market because it can be exceptionally seasonal, and Thomas guided me through every season and every price point until we hit the right one that generated consistent interest. At a time when very few undeveloped land parcels were selling mine sold. If you willing to heed knowledgeable advice and wise market counsel, Thomas Field is the broker for you. But if your're just going to hold on for a price you have in your mind and expect him to do miracles, you're wasting his talents and your time.

Selling our vacation home on the coast of Maine was not an easy process given the market for homes in that price range. It took many, many months and several price reductions. Tom worked diligently and consistently, advising us and keeping us informed at every step. He went out of his way on a number of occasions to deal with issues that would have been difficult for us to deal with due to our distance from the property. He is very knowledgable about technology and uses it to his customers advantage. He is honest, sincere and direct.
